Business Development Manager
Tier 1 Main Contractors (Construction Consultancy / QS Focus)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + package (DOE) Plus a competitive yearly bonus
Location: Remote (occasional meet-ups in Hertfordshire / South East)
Type: Permanent, full-time
We’re partnering with a growing construction consultancy that supports Tier 1 main contractors across the UK. They’re now looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive growth across their Quantity Surveying and commercial services offering.
This is a senior, relationship-led BD role focused on quality connections and strategic growth — not volume sales.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for developing and expanding relationships with:
* Tier 1 main contractors only
* Senior commercial and operational leaders
* Key decision-makers across civils, utilities, rail, energy and water frameworks
* You’ll work closely with the leadership team to:
* Open new Tier 1 contractor relationships
* Re-engage existing and dormant Tier 1 accounts
* Position consultancy services at board and commercial director level
* Identify framework, alliance and project-led opportunities
* Build a high-quality pipeline aligned to long-term growth
What They’re Looking For
* This role is suited to someone who already operates comfortably in the Tier 1 space:
* Proven business development experience within construction consultancy or recruitment
* Established relationships with Tier 1 main contractors
* Strong commercial acumen and credibility at director level
* Confident, consultative approach (not transactional sales)
* Comfortable working remotely with autonomy
