The OpportunityA well established organisation operating within the utilities sector is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to support its finance team on a temporary basis. This role will focus on maintaining a healthy debtor ledger and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances while delivering a professional customer focused service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactively managing a high volume debtor ledger
2. Contacting customers by telephone and email to collect overdue payments
3. Setting up and monitoring payment plans in line with internal policies
4. Allocating and reconciling iing payments
5. Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
6. Chasing overdue debt in line with agreed timescales
7. Updating customer accounts accurately on the finance system
8. Liaising with internal teams to resolve account discrepancies
9. Supporting month end reporting relating to aged debt
Skills and Experience Required
10. Previous experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
11. Strongmunication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally
12. Confident working with finance systems and Microsoft Excel
13. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
14. Ability to prioritise workload in a fast paced environment
15. A proactive and resilient approach to debt collection
