City Firm in the South East -35 mins by train from London has an opportunity for an experienced Construction & Engineering lawyer to join a highly regarded team ranked in the top tier by leading independent legal directories.
This role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, working on high-value and complex disputes and projects across sectors including logistics, education, and automotive, as well as for main contractors and sub-contractors.
The Role
* Advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction work
* Typical disputes include payment issues, professional negligence, delays, and defects
* Drafting, negotiating, and advising on construction contracts and ancillary agreements
* Involvement in business development, client training, and industry-focused workshops
About You
* Qualified lawyer with strong academic background
* Experience in adjudication, arbitration, and litigation in the TCC (for contentious lawyers)
* Solid transactional experience drafting/negotiating contracts (for non-contentious lawyers)
* Team player with excellent interpersonal and client-handling skills
* Experience from a major City, national, or regional practice
