*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet the required safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
* Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
* Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any issues found during inspections.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
* Collaborate with team members to improve testing processes and enhance customer service.
* Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and industry standards.
*Requirements*
* Proven mechanical knowledge with 4 years experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
* Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with customers and team members.
* A valid MOT Tester licence is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
