Job Title: Head of Projects Location: Flexible / Office-based – Dartford Employment Type: Full-time Purpose of the Role We are seeking a highly motivated leader to drive and inspire a Projects team. The role involves identifying new opportunities, managing tenders, and delivering projects to the highest standards of client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities * Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the Projects team. * Develop and manage departmental budgets to achieve financial targets. * Foster a customer-focused environment and maintain strong client relationships. * Support business development by nurturing client connections and contributing to the sales pipeline. * Deliver financial reviews and forecasts to senior management. * Oversee appraisals, performance reviews, training, and staff development. * Manage team administration including holiday and sickness records. * Ensure projects are staffed with fully competent personnel and sub-contractors. * Deliver projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, maximising profitability and client satisfaction. * Monitor and manage regulatory, commercial, and contractual risks. * Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, safety, health, and environmental policies. * Ensure accurate, timely, and professional correspondence and reporting. * Apply technical expertise to deliver best-value solutions and sustainable outcomes for clients. * Stay updated with industry knowledge through training, seminars, and courses. Key Skills & Experience * Proven experience in financial and commercial management within operations. * Strong leadership and team motivation skills, with the ability to exceed targets. * Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. * Experience in resolving contractual issues. * Relevant qualification in mechanical, electrical, or air conditioning engineering. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects valued between £100K and £1.5m. * Skilled in managing subcontractors and project teams. * Demonstrated ability to identify, specify, tender, and negotiate new work opportunities. * High integrity and commitment to good governance
