Were looking for a confident and community-minded Public Liaison Officer to support a major coastal infrastructure project in the Brighton and Hove area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, providing clear information, and representing large-scale construction projects in a positive and professional way.
Youll act as the first point of contact for local residents, businesses, and stakeholders, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly and that the projects community engagement, communications, and social value activities are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities Respond to public enquiries by phone, email, and in person, providing accurate and friendly information about ongoing site works.
Log all stakeholder communications and liaise with the project team to share updates, feedback, and emerging issues.
Provide in-person support to members of the public via scheduled drop-in sessions.
Assist in planning and delivering quarterly community liaison events.
Capture and share project updates, milestones, and photos for newsletters and social media.
Contribute written content for local updates, newsletters, and noticeboards.
Support STEM and careers outreach by helping with school visits, workshops, and site tours.
Take part in social value and community initiatives, representing the project positively.
About You Confident communicator with experience dealing with members of the public, both in person and in writing.
Friendly, approachable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Experience in a public-facing, community engagement, or educational role.
Strong written English with the ability to create clear, engaging content.
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths required; PR or communications qualification desirable.
CSCS card beneficial but not essential.
