An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 3 Urgent Care Clinical Support Worker within the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) based in Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (RAEI). MHLT is an established and friendly team who offer a comprehensive range of mental health assessment and brief interventions within a multidisciplinary team. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is based on shift work.
You will work with all ages, based within the Mental Health Streaming Area in RAEI and the wider hospital site.

Responsibilities
* Carry out assigned duties from the Shift Coordinator, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff within the mental health streaming area and the wider hospital, reporting back any observations.
* Support service users waiting for assessment or intervention in the Emergency Department or wider hospital site, providing emotional support, guidance and brief interventions where indicated.
* Assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the direction and supervision of qualified staff.
* Undertake observations in accordance with relevant Trust policy and best practice.
* Be required to undertake identified escort duties within and outside the Emergency Department and General Hospital boundaries as delegated after a risk assessment by a qualified member of staff.
* Liaise with other services and collect information to ensure a joined‑up approach to care for service users.
Qualifications / Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to demonstrate care and compassion.
* Self‑motivated and able to work well as part of a team, with an ability to stay calm under pressure or in times of crisis.
* Interest and experience in working with all ages.
