We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to become part of our Food & Beverage Team at the exclusive Europa Hotel under the leadership of our General Manager, Andy McNeill. You will have the opportunity to work with a friendly team, develop your skills and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality.
The successful candidate will work 45 hours per week (excluding breaks) across five shifts out of seven, including weekends. Hours vary and will include late finishes. The rate of pay for this full‑time position is £34,000.00 per annum.

About The Role
This role is responsible for the management of the bars to maximise guest enjoyment and hotel profit.
* Manage and motivate employees through effective communication, training and development in line with company policies and employment legislation.
* Maintain bar stocks and display goods and products to a high standard.
* Prepare and dispense drinks with high presentation standards.
* Ensure the team are knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services and proactively promote them.
* Assist guests with any reasonable requests for hotel services and handle complaints with appropriate solutions.
* Keep bar, customer areas and equipment clean and tidy in accordance with Hastings standards.
* Record sales and receive payments for beverages sold, following operating procedures.
* Use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, maintaining measures and minimizing wastage.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create a harmonious workplace where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
* Contribute to annual budgets, manage costs, and monitor profitable performance of the bar.
* Implement, monitor and review company policies on cash handling, stock control and ordering, taking corrective action as needed.
* Provide training, coaching and development to the team in line with Hastings standards.
* Maintain secure stock areas and report any breaches immediately.
* Comply with all health, safety, hygiene, licensing and security policies and procedures.
* Maintain effective communication with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Ensure bar equipment and fixtures are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
* Seek continuous industry knowledge and competitor activity to enhance market position.
* Assist with recruitment, selection and utilisation of bar staff in line with business needs.
* Ensure hotel compliance with licensing laws, customs and excise regulations and other relevant legislation.
* Carry out Duty Manager duties as required.
* Perform any other duties as required by Management.

Required Criteria
* Right to work in the United Kingdom
* Experience preparing rosters and wage forecasting
* Operational and bar management experience with cash handling, stock control, ordering and budgeting awareness
* Excellent communication and numeracy skills
* GCSE standard education or equivalent with grades A–C in English and Maths
* Strong customer care and organisational skills with all‑round F&B experience
* Previous team‑management experience in a similar operation
Desired Criteria
* Third level education
* Previous bar management experience gained in a hotel
