Responsibilities will include:
* Production of Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Ecological Impact Assessment, Biodiversity Net Gain Metrics, Habitats Regulation Assessments
* Undertaking of ecological surveys for a range of fauna, including bats, birds, badger, great crested newts, reptiles, dormouse, water vole and otter etc.
* Undertaking of habitat surveys
* Writing/completion of technical reports
* The production of method statements/mitigation plans and European Protected Species Mitigation Licences.
* Liaise with and advise, site managers, engineers, planners and others associated with a survey.

What we are looking for
Essential:
* Professional experience in ecological consultancy (minimum 2 years).
* BSc and or MSc in a relevant subject.
* Protected species survey licence(s).
* Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for business.
* Good understanding of the relevant legislation.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Able to work independently
* Good organisation, project management, and client liaison skills.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience being the Named Ecologist on protected species mitigation licences.
* Competence using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
* Member of CIEEM.
* Competent using QGIS
