Overview
Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Electrical Engineering – Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. In this role you will develop your own research in the field of Electrical Engineering while teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes in areas of energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications. You will have the opportunity to conduct classes, design and develop learning activities, and engage in publish high-quality research as part of a team and/or independently.
This role is based in Australia. The position reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate and postgraduate classes in Electrical Engineering areas including energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications.
* Design and develop learning activities and deliver learning outcomes; engage in publish high-quality research; collaborate as part of a team and/or independently.
* Contribute to the development of the teaching program and assessment strategies; support student learning and provide meaningful feedback.
Salary and Terms
* Associate Lecturer (Level A) – AUD $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Lecturer (Level B) - AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full time
* Fixed term – 2 years

Qualifications
Associate Lecturer (Level A)
* A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, and relevant work experience.
* Commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in electrical engineering disciplines (energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications).
* Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through assessment and feedback.
* Willingness to undertake professional development of teaching practice.
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality academic research with limited supervision.
* Evidence of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
* Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
* Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with UNSW aims, objectives and values.
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant training.
Lecturer (Level B)
* A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, and relevant work experience.
* Commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in electrical engineering disciplines (energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications).
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to educational excellence.
* Knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable).
* Ability to mentor students and support personal and academic growth.
* Awareness of student well-being, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives (desirable).
* Evidence of research with high quality, impact and leadership potential.
* Involvement with the profession and/or industry (high-level communication and networking skills).
* Ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; understanding of UNSW policies and guidelines; health and safety commitment.
