Job Description
LIGHTING DESIGNER
Due to our successful and continuous workload, Light IQ require a new Lighting Designer to join our London team. We are looking for an individual who brings creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a proactive attitude, along with a clear enthusiasm for architectural lighting and design.
This position focuses on the creative and technical design of lighting schemes for built environments and the successful candidate will work closely with our senior designers on hospitality, lifestyle and residential projects across the globe. International travel will be required as part of project delivery.
This role is suitable for someone looking for a new challenge within the Lighting Design industry. The candidate must have the following skills and experience:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Lighting Design industry (any applications without this requirement will be automatically rejected). This means experience designing lighting installations for interior and/or exterior built environments. Experience in the lighting equipment sales industry will NOT qualify as relevant experience, unless the experience covers working in a design department.
2. Full knowledge of AutoCAD.
3. Proficient in Photoshop (Creative Suite) and good free hand drawings skills.
4. Strong IT skills, including full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
5. Full knowledge of DIALUX.
6. Knowledge of REVIT will be a benefit, but not essential.
7. A relevant academic background at Degree level (i.e. architecture, interior design, product design).
8. Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.
9. Fluent in French language (both written and spoken) will be a benefit.
10. Full UK Work Permit/Visa and National Insurance Number. Please note that Graduate Visas and Temporary Work Permits will NOT be accepted for this post.
11. A genuine passion for architectural lighting and a strong interest in spatial deign and the built environment.
The job will be in London and full time in our Central London office. At the moment we are not able to accept/consider any applications for remote/flexible working.
