This is a fixed‑term post from September 2026 to July 2027. It is an outstanding opportunity for a recent music graduate seeking a dynamic and enriching year within a major independent school. The role would equally suit someone considering a future in music education or performance, with a great deal of meaningful experience across the full spectrum of school music‑making.
Responsibilities
* Chamber music coaching
* Sectional rehearsals for orchestral ensembles
* Supporting the choral programme, including weekly sung worship in Canterbury Cathedral
* Supervising practice and helping to manage music scholars' schedules
* Providing assistance in the classroom
For the right candidate, there may also be opportunities to contribute to academic music teaching, making this an excellent stepping‑stone for those exploring whether school teaching might be the right long‑term pathway.
