Timeplan services are very pleased to currently be recruiting for a number of schools in their search for Science Technicians for September starts.
The key responsibilities for the role are below:
Laboratory Preparation: Prepare and set up equipment, materials and scientific demonstrations for lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Resource Management: Order, organise, unpack, label and store consumables and apparatus; maintain an inventory and audit stock levels.
Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, ensure COSHH regulations are met, check equipment is safe and report potential hazards.
Equipment Maintenance: Test, calibrate and carry out basic maintenance of lab apparatus; arrange professional servicing as needed.
Waste Disposal: Safely dispose of chemical, biological and general waste following school and environmental procedures.
Technical Support: Assist teachers and pupils during practical lessons; troubleshoot equipment issues during labs.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, orders, incidents, repairs and inspections.
Administrative Duties: Support with budget monitoring, liaising with suppliers, and assist with display preparation or open evenings as required.
