The Senior Project Manager will typically lead large and technically challenging project(s) to a value of circa £90-120m, or on a Major project will take responsibility for the delivery of a large section of works. Reporting into the Project/Regional Director, the role is responsible for planning, coordination and management of all aspects of the project/section in line with the PEP aligned to the Sisk overall business strategy.
Has overall responsibility for delivery, safety, environmental, quality and profit & loss. Maintains a close working relationship with the client, his/her representatives and other stakeholders. Manages senior‑level relationships with all supply chain participants. Ensures work is executed in accordance with relevant standard procedures and complies with Sisk Safety Policy.
Responsibilities
* Prepare programme, method statements, prelims and submission documents
* Chair start‑up & internal meetings
* Prepare procurement strategy with the QS and prequalify key supply chain (early awards)
* Prepare a preliminary Risk Register and mitigate/manage risks throughout project
* Agree site layout and logistics and organise implementation in accordance with company guidelines
* Manage consultant and subcontract design, including delivery of BIM strategy
* Manage subcontractor progression meetings and pre‑order meetings
* Manage employee resources, ensuring coverage for site during leave or training
* Chair internal team meetings and chair subcontractor meetings
* Attend, update and issue accurate comprehensive minutes from Client/Design Team Meetings
* Manage information flow and required schedules
* Prepare contract reports, manage prelims per PEP and prepare application for extensions of time with SQS/QS
* Review constructability and identify execution methods with commercial or programme advantage where possible
Qualifications & Experience
* More than ten years’ experience in the construction sector or minimum of 4‑5 projects delivered across different industry sectors
* Demonstrable holistic ‘end to end’ project management experience
* Academic and/or professional qualification in a construction related subject, ideally Chartered
* SMSTS, CDM/PSCS
* Knowledge of HSEQS, BBS, Root Cause Analysis, S5 & Q10 internal workshops
* Awareness of key contract principles
* Good technical knowledge
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
