Technical Packaging Designer & Artworker

This is an exciting opportunity to join an award winning design team for a global company supplying packaging primarily to the fashion retail industry, including homeware and beauty.
The ideal candidate must be able to bring fresh ideas and contribute to and help deliver on product strategy and support growth.
You will turn great ideas into realistic, tangible and manufacturable structural packaging solutions including cascades, boxes and garment hangers. You’ll work with some of the biggest brands across fashion, homeware and beauty markets. You will report to the Creative & Product Director.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead product design & development from concept to mass production for structural packaging items including cascade packs, boxes and paperboard garment hangers
* Understanding customer requirements and offer commercial, workable and new solutions
* Create proposals and production specifications on time in line with customer requirements
* Co-ordination/creation of product prototypes
* Product trials and testing throughout the development process
* Input to expand and improve on testing processes
* Material development and selection
* Creating production ready artworks
* Analysis and feedback on production samples
* Maintaining customer and internal range plans
* Sample co-ordination & management
* Keep up to date and evaluate consumer and market trends
* Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to deliver on product and marketing strategy and help drive the department forward
Skills
* Experience in a similar role
* Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve challenges
* Able to quickly conceptualise and create ideas
* Ability to create innovative, original and commercial design concepts for the retail environment
* Commercial product and manufacturing/materials knowledge
* Skilled in Adobe creative suite
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent time management experience
* Ability to manage and adapt to multiple projects
