Radiology Admin Assistant / Receptionist

Radiology is a busy department providing X‑Ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services. We provide diagnostic services to our hospital sites using both specific Radiology IT packages alongside Trust‑wide systems to provide integrated care.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Receptionist/Admin Assistant to join our friendly team based within Radiology at UHND.
Responsibilities
* Greeting patients and visitors attending the department
* Accurately entering details onto the Radiology Information System
* Handling queries and liaising with other departments and colleagues when necessary
* Liaising regularly with secondary care staff, GP surgeries etc.
* Providing a fast and responsive appointment service to patients
* Receiving and handling information regarding referrals to the service, within set timescales
* Providing general admin support to the Radiology department as a whole
* Ensuring waiting time targets are met (including 2‑week referrals)
* Sending and receiving images via Radiology IT systems
You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre‑employment checks.

* Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.
* Flexible approach to work and adaptable to change.
* Knowledge of NHS procedures.
* Knowledge of Radiology systems.
Special Requirements
* Ability to work as a member of a team. Good IT knowledge including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles, understanding the requirement to maintain confidentiality.
Experience
* Experience dealing with the general public and the ability to solve problems.
* Previous experience working within the NHS and/or a Radiology Department.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education, minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above, including English, or equivalent experience suitable for role.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Administration (or working towards).
