People Manager, Wigan, c£55,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits, Permanent
Our client is a dynamic and growing business with a strong commitment to operational excellence and people development. They are seeking a People Manager to join their team following continued growth and a drive to strengthen their HR function. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on both the site and wider business. This role is stand alone on site, working alongside a wider HR team.
Reporting into the Site General Manager, this role will ensure the application of legally compliant people processes in line with group policies and procedures. You will support talent attraction, selection, development, and retention, provide accurate people data to manage budgets effectively, and work closely with managers to deliver high-quality people services.
You will be a highly motivated and resilient professional with strong people management and development experience. You will have excellent communication skills and hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification as a minimum and have a solid understanding of employment law. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to work within a matrix structure are essential, alongside a focus on quality, safety, and environment in all activities. Ideally you will have gained your experience within a unionised, manufacturing environment.
