Role Overview
The role is part‑time (30 hours a week) and based with the Gloucestershire Wheelchair Assessment Service. You will carry your own caseload of low‑ and medium‑needs wheelchair and accessory assessments, hand over equipment assessed by the therapy and rehab engineering team, and utilise hand and power tools to fit and adjust equipment in clinics, homes and educational settings across the county. You will work within a multidisciplinary team that values prompt, efficient, compassionate service for all ages and disabilities.
Responsibilities
 * Manage your own caseload of wheelchair and accessory assessments.
 * Hand over equipment and coordinate with the therapy and rehabilitation engineering teams.
 * Use a range of hand tools and power tools to adjust and fit mobility equipment.
 * Deliver holistic assessments that consider patients’ mobility needs as part of their overall wellbeing.
 * Support patients in achieving their mobility goals in clinics, homes and educational environments.
 * Transport equipment by van and drive the wheelchair service vehicles where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
 * Full UK driving licence.
 * Access to a car for work purposes.
 * Practical mechanical skills and willingness to use hand tools and power tools.
 * Strong communication skills and a patient‑centred approach.
 * Experience with wheelchair and mobility equipment is desirable but not mandatory.
 * Not eligible for sponsorship – must be legally authorised to work in the UK.
