Clinically review and assess cancer patients in the Outpatients setting.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our clinical nurse specialist team at Velindre Cancer Centre. You will have experience in oncology or urology and be passionate about delivering high quality care to this group of patients.
As part of the urology site specific team, you will be responsible for delivering a quality support service to patients with urological cancers.
You will join a supportive, forward thinking and innovative multidisciplinary team who are committed to improving services and supporting patients on their cancer journey
You must have an understanding of the needs of cancer patients; possess excellent communication skills for advising and supporting patients, relatives and other health professionals along with knowledge of managing a range of conditions, including disease progression complications, and management of side effects of systemic anti-cancer treatment and radiotherapy.
To use a range of professional and clinical skills and to act as a resource and advocate for patients. To promote and support the holistic wellbeing of patients, family and carers. To work as a core member of the Multidisciplinary team (MDT), supporting the cancer pathway to improve patient experience. To deliver evidence based individualised patient care according to patients changing health needs, through Holistic Needs Assessment (HNA). The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
