Account Executive (New Business) - Supply Chain SaaS (UK)
This role reports into the EMEA VP of Sales and requires an Account Executive who can work independently while collaborating closely with a wider sales organisation. The role is primarily remote, with travel required when needed to visit customers or partners, deliver demonstrations, and attend sales and marketing events.
The Account Executive is responsible for working alongside the Sales Development team to convert Sales Qualified Leads into Sales Accepted Leads and ultimately Sales Accepted Opportunities. From that point, the Account Executive leads the prospect through the buying process, engaging internal Solutions Consultants and other teams to progress opportunities through to close.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the sales process from discovery through to close won
* Work closely with the Sales Development team to progress qualified leads into active opportunities
* Engage prospects by understanding their needs and context and positioning the solution appropriately
* Deliver product demonstrations, showing a strong understanding of supply chain challenges and how the platform addresses them
* Work with Solutions Consultants and internal teams to support opportunity progression and solution design
* Run workshops with customers and partners to shape the appropriate supply chain solution, including ERP integrations
* Deliver product education sessions to partner organisations to support partner-led sales activity
* Support Marketing and Business Development teams by providing input into problem statements, messaging, and solution positioning
* Represent the business at industry events and conferences, including on-stand demonstrations and presentations (approximately four events per year)
* Build and maintain relationships across partner networks through events and ongoing engagement
* Contribute to clear handover documentation from Marketing to Sales and from Sales to Customer Success to support smooth customer onboarding
Experience and Requirements
Given the specialist nature of the product and market, this role requires prior experience selling supply chain or closely related SaaS solutions.
You will have:
* Proven experience selling supply chain, inventory management, forecasting, procurement, or planning software
* Strong sales skills with experience following a defined sales process from start to finish
* Demonstrated ability to understand customer challenges and contribute to solution building
* Experience managing opportunities through discovery, demonstration, and close
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to customers and partners
Preferred Background:
* 3–5 years experience in a quota-carrying SaaS sales role
* Experience selling into SMB or lower mid-market customers
* Comfortable selling annual contract values typically ranging from £12k to £40k
* Familiarity with Salesforce and video conferencing tools such as Zoom
* Experience working with partners or indirect sales channels
* Well organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Ability to contribute 10–20 percent of pipeline through proactive activity
Important Note
This role requires direct experience selling supply chain or closely related operational SaaS. Candidates without this background are unlikely to be successful in this position.
