Responsibilities
* Phlebotomy
* Perform ECGs and ensure that they have been analysed by a GP
* Carrying out blood pressure, height & weight checks
* Advise patients on health care, health promotion & illness prevention
* Wound Care Compression
* To undertake NHS Health checks
* To administer flu, pneumonia, and B12 injections having been adequately trained
* Stock control and ordering of drugs and medical supplies
* Ensure that fridge temperatures are regularly monitored
* Maintain high standards of tidiness, hygiene and safety in the use of all equipment and areas of work, in line with the Practice Health and Safety policy, Infection Control Policy as well as all other Practice policies and procedures
* To liaise with and communicate effectively with other members of the Primary Health Care Team
* To attend course and study days as required or thought necessary to maintain high standards and to record these as part of continuing professional development

Our GP practice is a well-established and forward-thinking healthcare organisation committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The practice is led by a team of three dedicated partners, supported by five salaried doctors, ensuring continuity and a broad range of medical expertise for our patient population. We are proud to have a skilled multidisciplinary clinical team, including two practice nurses, two healthcare assistants, and a paramedic, who work collaboratively to provide comprehensive and accessible care. We have a strong non-clinical team, consisting of twelve administrative and reception staff, a Digital and Transformation Lead, a Business Manager, and a Practice Manager. Together, they ensure smooth day-to-day operations and drive innovation in service delivery. Our team works together to maintain a responsive, efficient, and compassionate environment, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and adapting to the evolving needs of our patients.
Qualifications & experience
Essential
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Previous HCA experience in a healthcare setting
* Care Certificate or equivalent experience
* Level 3 in Health & Social Care
* Phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care, blood glucose testing, immunisations
* Experience supporting minor surgery clinics, suture removal
* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
* Experience delivering brief health interventions and record keeping
* Confident using clinical systems (SystemOne)
Desirable
* Confident using clinical systems (SystemOne) with reliability, flexibility, and a team-focused approach
* Ongoing learning and development and infection control training (or willingness to complete)
* Participation in QOF or quality improvement activities
