I am currently recruiting for an Investment Modelling Manager to play a critical role in evaluating commercial opportunities, quantifying risks and returns, and ensuring investment decisions are grounded in robust financial analysis. This position is central to supporting growth and transition strategies, ensuring business cases are aligned with market realities, commercial priorities, and governance requirements.
Responsibilities
· Business Case Development- Build financial models, develop business cases, and prepare investment packs for approvals and committees.
· Market Analysis- Monitor energy market developments, regulatory changes, competitor activity, and trends to inform strategic decisions.
· Stakeholder & Advisor Management- Coordinate with external advisors, ensuring consistency, alignment, and timely delivery of inputs.
· Governance Support- Prepare documentation for governance processes, respond to queries, and ensure accuracy across Finance, Legal, and Commercial inputs.
· Public Sector Engagement- Support preparation of business cases for public sector bodies, ensuring strategic fit and value for money.
· General- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and performance processes, contributing to overall team objectives.
Requirements
· Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field; postgraduate/professional qualification (CFA, ACA, MBA) is an advantage.
· 5+ years' experience in financial modelling, investment appraisals, and business case development, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or regulated sectors.
· Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, with the ability to present insights at the senior/board level.
· Knowledge of Irish/EU energy markets, regulation, and frameworks (RESS, CfD, State Aid); experience with public sector processes (e.g., NewERA, NTMA) desirable.
· Proven stakeholder management skills; membership of a relevant professional body is a plus.
