Job Summary:
The Textile Machinist will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring industrial sewing machines to manufacture high-quality textile components used in the production of protective cases and covers. The role involves reading and interpreting design specifications, ensuring fabric is cut and sewn to precise dimensions, and working closely with the production team to meet customer requirements and production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating Sewing Machines: Set up and operate industrial sewing machines to stitch, sew, and assemble textile components as per technical drawings and specifications.
Fabric Cutting and Preparation: Measure, mark, and cut fabric, ensuring accurate dimensions for production.
Quality Control: Inspect work throughout the process for any defects, ensuring finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines and other textile equipment, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with the production and design teams to ensure smooth production flow, communicating any challenges or deviations from specifications.
Efficiency & Deadlines: Ensure all tasks are completed within set timelines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company health and safety guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
Documentation: Maintain records of production, including quantity produced, materials used, and any discrepancies in output.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a textile machinist, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment but full training will be provided.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other textile-related equipment.
Knowledge of Materials: Familiarity with various types of fabrics, technical textiles, and cutting techniques.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precise cutting and stitching as per technical drawings and customer specifications.
Physical Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling materials and operating machinery. Ability to lift fabric rolls and materials, standing for long periods while operating machinery.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a production team environment, contributing to team goals and objectives.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make adjustments as needed.
