* Crisis Management: Provide de-escalation support to ensure a safe, supportive, learning-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted mentoring and behavioural support to students with SEMH diagnoses.
* Develop and employ bespoke strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
* Build trusting relationships that inspire and empower.
* Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies to co-create, monitor, and adjust individual behaviour plans.
* Track student progress, share impactful feedback, and pivot approaches as needed.
* Uphold a calm, safe space through effective crisis intervention when required.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)—required.
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, preferably in a school environment.
* In-depth understanding of SEMH challenges and their effect on learning and behaviour.
* Excellent communication, rapport‑building, and collaborative skills.
* A patient, empathic, and resilient approach—ready to handle challenging behaviours with confidence.
* A proactive, solution-focused mindset centered on student wellbeing and achievement.
* A steadfast commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
