Hiring Overview
Are you looking to work in a close-knit, collaborative team environment where your contribution and expertise is truly valued? Are you keen to develop your career within a global law firm offering clear progression opportunities? Then this could be the role for you.
Responsibilities
* We are building our Restructuring & Insolvency capability in Manchester and are seeking a technically strong, commercially astute lawyer to play a key role alongside our lead partner in developing the practice locally and nationally. This is an opportunity to join one of the most respected R&I platforms globally, while contributing directly to the growth of our UK business.
* You will work directly with the Manchester partner leading the practice, offering a high degree of client exposure, autonomy and progression.
* Good matter management is a must, and sound legal knowledge and experience of working with a range of clients will set you apart. You will be confident, motivated and eager to develop long‑lasting relationships. Our Associates work closely with our clients and other advisers, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Qualifications
* Coming from a well-recognised international, national or regional practice, you will be an experienced restructuring lawyer at the Associate, Senior Associate, or Director level (likely 4-15 PQE) with a strong grounding in non‑contentious restructuring and insolvency work (including distressed corporate transactions).
* You will have the confidence to lead on workstreams, engage directly with clients and advisers whilst delivering high‑quality work, and help drive business development initiatives across the Northwest market.
Benefits
* Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients - from long‑established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start‑up visionaries and sovereign nations.
* More than 1,500 lawyers operating in 40+ offices across four continents provide unrivalled access to expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London.
* The firm is committed to promoting an inclusive and supportive working environment. Embedded by local champions in each of our UK offices, our well‑regarded family and carer, wellbeing and DEI programmes provide a variety of flexible working options to support individuals' life journeys, helping our people pursue their personal and professional goals.
* We offer competitive pay and an attractive bonus and benefits programme, including an uncapped productivity bonus, alongside a great working culture and hybrid working policy.
