Are you highly organised, proactive and great at keeping projects on track?
We’re looking for a motivated Project Support Officer to join our Governance & Communities Directorate and play a key role in supporting effective project delivery across the council.
In this varied and rewarding role you will provide essential support to our project teams, helping to coordinate activities, maintain high-quality documentation, track progress and ensure strong communication with stakeholders.
You’ll work across a range of transformation, commissioning and service improvement projects, making a real impact on how we deliver services for our communities.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing day-to-day project and administrative support, including minute-taking, action logs and project documentation.
2. Coordinating project activities and ensuring key actions are followed up.
3. Preparing spreadsheets, presentations, reports and guidance materials.
4. Maintaining project tracking systems and ensuring project standards are applied.
5. Supporting stakeholder communication, including liaising with other council teams, partners and members of the public.
6. Assisting with engagement, contract monitoring and wider team activities.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence working with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
8. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
9. Good attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Strong IT skills, including experience with project tools, Word, Excel and data analysis.
11. The ability to analyse, interpret and present information clearly.
12. A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
