Job Description:
We are seeking a manufacturing technician to support CNC Machining projects as part of AMIC’s advanced manufacturing activities. You will assist with workshop-based research and development activities, applying your knowledge to ensure outputs with direct economic and technical benefits to AMIC and our partners. You will collaborate with the CNC Machining team, the wider AMIC team, and industry partners to deliver key projects focused on advanced manufacturing.
About the person:
* Hold an OND/ONC and/or NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, or have completed a recognized apprenticeship in engineering; or possess lower qualifications with significant relevant industrial experience.
* At least two years (post-apprenticeship) experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment, including operating CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines. Ability to set up parts on CNC machines, including loading programs, tools, setting datums, and making minor adjustments.
* Experience using manual measuring equipment such as dial test indicators, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
* Proven analytical skills with a track record of solving engineering problems.

This position is available for 3 years. Fixed-term contracts may be renewed or made permanent depending on funding availability.
