The job itself
If you have experience managing children's residential services and are seeking a new opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children, our Area Manager role could be the next step in your career.
East Riding Council currently operates 5 registered children's homes, all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. We plan to open an additional 5 homes in the coming months, increasing our capacity from 9 to 19 beds.
Reporting to the Head of Service, the Area Manager will provide strategic leadership for these homes, which are designed to offer bespoke care for some of our most vulnerable young people. Each home is managed by a registered children's home manager who reports directly to the Area Manager and oversees daily operations and care delivery.
Our small cluster of children's homes has been highly successful, providing stability and support for young people to remain within their community. The Area Manager will play a key role as we expand our residential services portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children, with experience managing budgets and large teams at a Service Manager level, and with strong knowledge of the Care Standards Act 2000 and Children's Homes Regulations 2015. This is an excellent time to join during our expansion and help shape our services.
We offer:
* A range of staff benefits.
* A strong, values-based supportive working environment.
* A culture of support and development.
* Hybrid working options.
* An opportunity to build on our successful portfolio.
* Excellent pension scheme with a 19.3% employer contribution.
