Our client, a well-established logistics and haulage solutions specialist with an excellent reputation within the industry, is currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated individual with a proven track record of securing new business within the freight forwarding industry.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for generating new business through effective business development activities, while promoting and highlighting the products and value-added services provided by our client. You may also be required to undertake additional tasks within your capabilities to meet the needs of the business.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:
* Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities
* Onboard new clients efficiently, ensuring a smooth integration into the business
* Developing and refining SOPs for each client with the Commercial and Operations teams
* Utilising the teams and infrastructure to source solutions to provide to clients
* Attending trade events and networking opportunities
* Reintroducing dormant companies that have worked with the company previously.
* Follow Directors and Manager’s sales direction and strategy, as well as suggesting new potential opportunities.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Proven track record in freight sales and business development
* Experience of working in Imports or Exports Operational roles
* Knowledge in required customs documentation, certificates, or licences and general Customs Compliance
* Ability to build and maintain strong influential relationships
* Knowledge of Tariffs
* Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to close sales and handle objections
* Strong geographical knowledge
