Role: Care Home Manager
Daily duties
* Play an active role in ensuring compliance within the home.
* Ensure Quality and Activities are achieved via a Caring, Effective, Responsive, Safe & Well Led focus.
* Be familiar with and prepared to work with a thorough and comprehensive governance & compliance system. Achieving Quality is not quick or easy.
* Provide effective leadership, continually assessing our residents' needs and wishes and driving the service to further success.
* Be a Champion for older people and those who have a diagnosis of Dementia.
* Continue to positively influence the reputation of the home, communicating professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends, and other external stakeholders to maintain occupancy in addition to promoting the home with local authorities.
* Build links with local communities, ensuring residents are empowered to still access communities and encourage key community members to continue to visit.
* Be aware of the use of social media to keep relatives and visitors updated regarding activities and events at the Home.
* Maintain person-centred excellence – be a role model of high standards of empowering care, ensuring legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines are followed.
* Have a strong knowledge of how to meet nursing needs, ensuring the Nursing and Midwifery Council's code of conduct is always respected.
* Manage the home's resources effectively. Ensure all departments within the home are well trained and provide efficient service to our residents at all times.
* People management – play an active part in upskilling our teams via coaching and mentoring, contributing to high staff morale and job satisfaction. Manage rotas effectively, so that continuity of care is assured.
* Be accountable for the Home as a whole, taking pride in achievements.
* Be an ambassador for company policies and procedures.
* Provide on call support to the home.
* Recruit your team, ensuring they have an inspiring induction and introduction to the Home and our valued residents.
Skills & Experience:
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin (desirable).
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Care Home Manager.
* Proven track record of managing homes to achieve CQC compliance and high-quality ratings.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff at all levels.
* Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance in the care sector, including health and safety, employment law, and care regulations.
* A valid driving licence.
