Job Description:
Sales Assistant roles help you develop a wide range of skills that you can carry throughout your career! We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Retail Saturday Sales Assistant at our Horfield store.
You will receive full training and support from experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly managers and team members. If you have a passion for second-hand items, recycling, upcycling, and enjoy roles that build strong relationships, and if you want to contribute to the care of patients and their families, we want to hear from you!
The details:
* Salary: £12.21 per hour, aged 21 and over (£23,874 FTE per annum)
* Salary: £10.00 per hour, aged under 21 (£19,553 FTE per annum)
* Working 7.5 hours per week, Saturdays
What we are looking for:
* Excellent communication and organizational skills with a proactive approach
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Genuine interest in home wear, furniture, second-hand, and charity retail
* Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
* Open and adaptable to change, with the ability to support others
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* IT literacy and numeracy skills, including using email and basic spreadsheets
* Previous retail experience is advantageous but not essential
Key responsibilities:
* In the absence of management, open and close the store and ensure it trades safely and legally
* Assist the management team in achieving profit targets by reducing costs and maximizing sales
* Work as part of the shop team, carrying out tasks to ensure smooth operations
* Support high standards of presentation on windows and the shop floor
* Help implement changes to optimize sales
* Encourage and generate stock donations from the public
* Support and demonstrate our values through your role
You may be asked to take responsibility for the store on an ad hoc basis, so supervisory experience is preferred.
