The Procurement team is made of 120 professionals working across the world to create competitive advantage for pladis through mid-term sourcing strategies and strong supplier relationships. Our Procurement vision aims at delivering more value for the business along 5 key business deliverables: Supply Continuity, Cost Out, Cash Flow optimization, Sustainability and Supplier Innovation. We work as a matrix organization, with Global Categories leveraging the pladis global size and Local Procurement ensuring a strong connection and proximity with our 5 regions (UK & Ireland, Western Europe & Emerging markets, Middle East – North Africa – India, Turkey – Eastern Europe – Central Asia, and North America). Within Global Categories, the Head of Capex and Utilities Category drives and executes (with Local Procurement support when required) the Sourcing Strategies for both categories (Capex & Utilities). In addition to the sourcing strategy, the role holder will be responsible for: Understanding & formalizing pladis needs Understanding supply markets globally Executing our Cover Strategy with regards to Commodities (electricity and natural gas) Elaboration of a 2 to 3 year-forward sourcing strategy Negotiation & Tenders Management of Global suppliers For Capex, which is a £100m spend per annum, the role holder will be responsible for: Mapping, together with Engineering, our requirements for the next 3 years, in order to identify strategic sub-categories to focus on. Mapping the market to identify new suppliers in those strategic areas, able to challenge our incumbent suppliers Defining, jointly with Engineering, a Sourcing Strategy for those strategic aras (which suppliers to consider, potential partnership, pricing model – i.e. TCO, Design to Cost…) Building strong SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) with global & strategic suppliers, to build long-term relationship in order to standardize our equipment whenever it makes sense get better service support and get priority access to their innovation. This includes setting up & monitoring a supplier evaluation program. Negotiating frame agreements with Global Suppliers, while supporting Engineering in their negotiation as we acquire new equipment. Finalizing contracts with strategic suppliers, collecting all necessary requirements (technical, service level, expected KPIs) from the various stakeholders. Manage those contracts (execution, payments, liquidated damages, etc). Building guidelines for procurement standards and preferred suppliers list when the negotiation is delegated to Engineering (for local projects on non-strategic sub-categories) For Utilities, which is a £25m spend per annum, the role holder will be responsible for: Building a 3 to 5 year forward strategy for the Category. Lead and develop key supplier relationships and integrate supplier expertise as appropriate to meet the business strategy. Analyzing trends and regulations in the energy market, including the evolution of renewable energy. Monitor energy non-commodity charges, taxes and levies and identify industry incentive opportunities or subsidies Proactively proposing cost saving opportunities and make recommendations to the CPO & CSCO Working closely with Engineering and Sustainability management teams in understanding the needs, objectives. Assessing business decisions for sustainability (including CO2 reduction) and seek out opportunities for increasing energy efficiency. Leading energy efficiency projects jointly with the plants. Working with the Procurement Head for Hedging to develop a hedge strategy that is clear and actionable over a minimum 2 year hedging tenor. Issue a clear mandate to the execution team, to contract against the approved hedging strategy. Provide regular Energy market updates to the business, sharing market analysis and pricing evaluation Executing energy/utilities supply contracts in a timely manner after tendering and negotiating the best terms and conditions. (Power, gas, diesel & water purchase agreements for our UK, US, Dutch and French operations.)
