This position is well-suited to an enthusiastic person who is looking to further their experience on a large estate. Job Role: Undertake essential reactive, and emergency repair work, alterations and general maintenance to the building infrastructure using specialist knowledge of painting & decorating and of other construction trades. Work with the Estates Officer Joinery / Building in using the ‘CAFM’ system to receive, update, and close off requests, and update records. Use specialist maintenance knowledge to plan and organise work with / without supervision to accomplish set tasks. Diagnose simple faults in paint systems and then rectify them accordingly. Decorate all elements of new and existing buildings, items of machinery, furniture, signs, posts, lamp posts, fencing, wooden garden feature and outbuildings. Daily duties will involve the frequent movement of heavy items of materials & equipment (in excess of 15Kg) with, or without lifting aids in accordance with the guidance provided within the trusts ‘Lifting and Handling Training Manual’. Operate all associated portable power hand tools. Provide technical support to other members of the estates department. Liaise and work in partnership with other estates staff, contractors, where work requires multi-person / multi-trade input and any other duties identified by the Estates Management Team. The Successful Candidate The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. This role is subject to Standard DBS disclosure. Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Relevant qualifications (City and Guilds Ordinary Ordinary/ Advanced certificate in Painting and Decorating or NVQ level 2/ 3/ 4 certificate in Painting and Decorating) Detailed knowledge of painting & decorating for maintenance and new installations Possession of a current U.K. driving license for manual transmission vehicles, to be inclusive of category B & E vehicles Ability to use appropriate sanding tools and sanding equipment in preparation of wall surfaces, sheet materials and other items being painted Ability and enthusiasm to learn new techniques / skills, and attend additional training as identified by the Trust For full details regarding this role please view the job description and person specification.
