Trevett Services are pleased to be partnering with a leading real estate managing agent to recruit a Senior Health and Safety advisor for portfolio of buildings within commercial and high-end residential. The role is for a highly experienced and proactive Senior Health and Safety Advisor to support the facilities management operations, with a particular emphasis on fire safety and compliance in higher-risk buildings.
This role is critical in ensuring the portfolio meets all legal obligations under the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and emerging requirements under Martyns Law (Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025).
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of health and safety strategies across a diverse property portfolio, including the preparation of policies, procedures and guidance.
Review 3rd party assessments, ensuring they are suitable and sufficient, and supporting the resolution of actions raised. Ensure consultant delivery is in line with contract expectations.
Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 at all HRBs, including maintaining statutory documents, procedures and the golden thread of building safety information. Advise Facilities and Building Managers on health and safety and fire safety measures required to manage on site activities, including high risk works such as working at height. Attend sites and meetings as necessary to support implementation. Collaborate with property managers, facilities teams, clients and contractors to ensure fire safety best practice is embedded in all building operations and refurbishments.
Prepare and deliver fire safety and general health and safety training to staff and contractors.
Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented, liaising with insurers and loss adjusters as necessary.
Monitor and report on health and safety performance, producing reports for senior leadership, ISO 45001, and regulatory bodies.
Travel across the UK to conduct site visits, audits, and assessments as required, and supporting external audits for IS0 45001.
Willingness and flexibility to travel across the UK as required.
The person specification (Desirable):
Membership of IOSH and/or IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers).
Experience with digital compliance systems and safety case documentation.
Familiarity with emergency planning and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
Knowledge of Martyns Law and its implications for property management and public safety.
