EdEx is recruiting for six Teaching Assistant roles, starting in September 2025. Each role is guaranteed for the full academic year (September 2025 - July 2026). These are full-time, Monday to Friday positions. If you enjoy your year at the school and develop a passion for teaching, inspiring change and students, you can train to teach from September 2026 on a salaried teacher training SCITT (paid + no student debt). You will receive support, nurturing, and rapid progression.
What skills and experience do you need as a Teaching Assistant?
* A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 degree
* Strong GCSEs and A Levels across the board, especially in your chosen subject
* A genuine passion for inspiring young people, evident during interviews
* An understanding of potential routes into teaching (but you don't need to know everything)
* Resilience, a Can-Do attitude, and a positive demeanor—roles in teaching and as a Teaching Assistant are challenging but rewarding
That's all you need. Experience in tutoring, mentoring, summer camps, or childcare is a bonus but not essential. Most importantly, you should have a desire to make an impact.
Teaching Assistant - Role Details:
* Permanent contract with 13 weeks paid holiday
* £25,000 - £27,000 per annum, depending on experience and academics
* Monday to Friday, typically 8am - 4pm (no weekends)
* Start in September 2025, initially until July 2026
* Potential to transition onto a permanent contract and salaried teacher training from September 2026
* Support students across Key Stages (KS3, KS4, KS5), including 1-2-1 and small group interventions, booster sessions, and revision sessions
* Support students in your chosen subject, such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, or Languages
* Assist students with mild to moderate SEN, including Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, SEMH, etc.
* Full classroom support alongside qualified teachers and exceptional leaders
