Salary breakdown: £30,731.94 shift prem £7,682.99 annual salary £38,414.93 After successful probationary £31,366.65 shift prem £7,841.66 annual salary £39,208.31 Shifts: Monday - Thursday Early Shift 6am to 2.00pm Back Shift 2pm to 10.00pm Night Shift 10pm to 6.00am 20 minutes unpaid meal break (to be taken at a time to suit the Company) Friday Early Shift 6am to 12.20pm Back Shift 12:20pm to 6.40pm Night Shift 6:40pm to 1am Duties & Responsibilities: - To assist with the identification, development and implementation of operational improvements - To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved. - To ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually improved. - To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality. - To be flexible and adaptable including movement between work areas, overtime and shift changes to support the site in case of unexpected absence or die backlog. - Carry out both simple and complex numerical computations involving decimals and fractions. - Inspection of templates, final dies and part finished dies. - Inspection of machining operations on various machines. - Carrying out hot forge inspection of forged components and dies for set ups. - Carrying out black forge inspection of machined and pre machines aircraft parts. - Setting up jigs and fixtures for various machine shop operations. - To rotate to any area within the inspection department that is required. These areas include: - Hot Forge - Marking off - Pipe Shop - Die and Aircraft - Template checking To ensure that high standards of health, safety and housekeeping are met: - To carry out housekeeping audits across the unit if required - To use the appropriate personal protective equipment - To assist with undertaking risk assessments and re-assessments - To undertake weekly inspections as required - To monitor and assist with the implementation of safe systems of work - To comply with legislative requirements - To undertake daily forklift truck and crane checks - To develop efficient working processes and seeks ways to continuously improve all aspects of your own job. - To work to established process methods, reporting any deviations and correcting these as necessary. - To apply fault finding and problem-solving skills relating to manufacture and equipment failure to continually improve processes. - To participate in continuous improvement activities. - To work to achieve the performance measures identified within the team. - To assist in aiding two-way communications. - To identify own training needs with your team leader and assist with training others if competent and designated as a trainer. - To undertake additional training within work area in line with the company needs. - To undertake any other role within skill capability as specified by the Team Leader that may be required to fulfil the needs of the business. Knowledge & Experience: - Time served engineer. (HNC) - Must have a high degree of numerical ability. - Knowledge and application of safe working practices. - Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures - Previous experience working within a Team - Knowledge of reading and interpreting computer blueprints, sketches and process sheets is desirable, as well as using a variety of precision measuring instruments
