Dementia Outreach Coordinator (Part-time)
Salary: £21,840 (£27,300 FTE)
Location: Clockhouse & Community Locations
Hours: 28 hours/week (Monday to Thursday)
Reporting to: Dementia Service Lead
Direct Reports: Volunteers
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people living with dementia and their carers? We're looking for a compassionate and proactive Dementia Outreach Coordinator to join our team and help deliver meaningful support across the community.
About the Role
As Dementia Outreach Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals living with dementia and their carers through group activities, tailored one-to-one sessions, and community engagement. You'll lead initiatives such as:
* Dementia activity groups and carer support groups
* Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) sessions
* One-to-one respite and activity sessions in homes and community settings
* Building partnerships and coordinating volunteers to ensure smooth delivery
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with people living with dementia and their families
* Experience in adult safeguarding and delivering high-quality customer service
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities independently
* Proficient in MS Office and Database Management
* Ability to work autonomously and manage volunteer and partner rotas
* Caring, compassionate, and patient approach
* Confident car driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous learning
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and Right to Work verification
Desirable
* Current DBS registered on the update service
* Previous experience delivering MCST or similar therapeutic programmes
Working Conditions
* Travel across community locations is required
* Lone working may be involved, following Age UK Surrey's guidance
