The role:
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Design Manager to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) team. The successful candidate will help secure and deliver multi-million-pound rail infrastructure projects and programs across our portfolio.
The role involves managing our experienced design and delivery teams, based in the UK and abroad, and overseeing key client accounts to ensure CRSA remains the preferred partner for our clients.
Travel within the role may be required to project sites, CRSA, and client offices depending on project needs.
Your responsibilities:
* Leading multidisciplinary engineering coordination and delivery, supporting major infrastructure projects to be completed on time and within budget.
* Assisting in bid management to secure future work and growth opportunities.
* Promoting and maintaining high safety standards on site.
* Building and maintaining relationships with alliance partners, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Managing supply chain and subcontractor relationships confidently.
* Overseeing multiple design disciplines and projects, balancing demands and stakeholder expectations.
Candidate requirements:
* Experience managing projects, engineering deliverables, or teams across multiple locations.
* Proven ability to deliver projects within budget, schedule, and client specifications.
* Desirable: experience with Network Rail Engineering Design processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
* Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers, clients, contractors, and colleagues.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
* Degree qualification or equivalent.
* Membership of the Association for Project Management or similar body is desirable.
