About The Role

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to support learning and teaching within the Department of Chemistry. We are looking for applicants with interest in and experience of innovative teaching methods, who can contribute to the delivery of a modern curriculum, who care about the student experience, and who are able to support the administrative part of teaching in an efficient manner.

The main purpose of the post is to coordinate and deliver lectures, workshops and practical sessions, predominantly in inorganic materials chemistry at second- and third-year level and in general chemistry at foundation and first-year level, and to support assessment, marking and feedback. This post is part of the Faculty’s commitment to the development of a rich learning environment for all students.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
