We are seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure administration to join our team in Aberdeen. This hybrid role combines operational support and project delivery within an enterprise environment, focusing on cloud infrastructure management, automation, performance optimisation, and security. The successful candidate will bring strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of ITIL practices, ideally gained within an oil and gas setting.
What you’ll do
* Support administration and management of the Azure environment
* Monitor and manage backups and disaster recovery processes
* Manage access controls and performance across cloud resources
* Maintain and update security controls, including certificates, encryption keys, and network security groups
* Apply firewall updates to objects, rules, and zones
* Perform vulnerability patching and ensure system security
* Monitor and optimise resource costs across the Azure environment
* Automate repeatable tasks to improve operational efficiency
* Participate in an on-call support rota
What to bring
* Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, ideally within an oil and gas environment
* Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining infrastructure technologies across virtual and physical environments
* Hands-on Azure administration skills, including virtual networks, storage, compute, identity and governance, monitoring, backup, security, and cost management
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders up to senior leadership level
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and working within an ITIL-aligned environment
* Azure certification (e.g. AZ-104) is highly desirable but not essential
