Role overview
Senior Project Manager – Water and Environment, reporting to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK. The role involves delivering work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands in a consultancy capacity, with potential progression between the UK Water, Environment, Rail or Nuclear sectors. The role is based in Tamworth (office-based 4 days per week; 1 day from home).
Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
* NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC Contract management and administration client side
* Budget control
* Collaborating with the QS on payment valuations and certifying monthly payments under ECC and PSC forms of the NEC 4 form
* Actual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determination in collaboration with the QS
* Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure appropriate project management and commercial records are maintained per contract requirements; oversee contractual issues
* Draft contract communications and notices, including Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, and General Communications
Pre-Contract activities
* Initial project scope planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies
* Preparation of tender documentation
* Evaluation of tenders
* Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Collaborate with contractors early in the design phase
Post-Contract activities
* Manage and administer construction contracts
* Monitor expenditure and cash flow
* Lead evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
* Claims and dispute resolution
* Final accounts and post-project evaluation
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a numeric discipline
* Full Membership of a chartered body such as APM at MAPM
* Experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectors
* Line management and recruitment experience of Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers
* CDM regulation knowledge and experience
* Risk management experience
* Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene card desirable
* Main contractor and/or joint venture experience on the client side
* Experienced user of NEC3-4 contracts (A-C-E)
* Right to work in the UK
* Onsite presence expected (Tamworth) four days per week
