Our client, a Tier One contractor, is recruiting a Major Projects Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services team on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The role offers an immediate start, a hybrid working arrangement with offices based in Speke.

Role Overview
This position will support the delivery of large, complex construction projects, ensuring mechanical designs are sustainable, compliant, and cost‑effective from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑level technical expertise in mechanical building services engineering.
* Support and contribute to project design meetings, establishing and agreeing design concepts.
* Deliver fully coordinated mechanical design solutions through all project stages.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure quality and consistency.
* Contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices across the wider business.
* Drive innovation within M&E services, including implementation of initiatives such as BIM.
* Maintain regular communication with senior stakeholders regarding progress, risks, costs and project output.
* Ensure adherence to quality procedures and document control standards.
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
* Membership with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
* Strong experience within mechanical building services design, particularly on large‑scale projects.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a wider business audience.
* Experience working with quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
* Ability to pass BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance.
