Multi-skilled Operative
Location: Leeds
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Salary up to £32,665.00 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card
42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)
We’re on the lookout for a talented and versatile Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across a range of trades, ensuring residents’ homes are safe, functional, and well cared for.
You’ll be working across occupied properties, responding to day-to-day repair requests that cover carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and more. No two days are the same, and your ability to adapt, problem-solve, and deliver excellent customer service will be key to your success.

Duties:
1. Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across void social housing properties
2. Replacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames
3. Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
4. Repairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges
5. Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks
6. Carrying out patch plastering and making good, damaged walls or ceilings
7. Completing wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
8. Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair works
9. Ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
10. Working in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacy
11. Participating in out-of-hours emergency repair rota on a rotational basis
12. Attend training sessions when required
13. Reporting any further works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond scope
14. Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents' homes
15. Accurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
16. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
17. Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets
Role Criteria:
18. Proven experience in repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating)
19. Full UK driving licence
20. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
21. Excellent communication skills
22. Good time management skills
Desirable:
23. NVQ Level 2 in Joinery
