Position 1: Travel Area, Bristol only.
Position 2: Travel Area, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team, to deliver high quality person-centred support to autistic people and people with learning difficulties to gain employment.
Did you know that up to 10% of the population have a learning difficulty or Autism but their employment rate in the UK is low at 5.7%? The WE Work for Everyone programme is funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund through the West of England Combined Authority.
We support autistic people and people with learning difficulties into paid work. You will join an established team within the employment skills and learning division of Bristol City Council, as an essential part of the ‘WE Work for Everyone’ infrastructure.
Your role is to meet with participants in person or via Teams to identify their barriers and come up with an action plan to improve their employment outcome and keep accurate log of your meetings.
Based on your customer’s previous work experience, skill set, aspirations and current circumstances, you will need to make a decision to provide direct support to help them find work, OR refer them into a specialist service, if they require more intensive support than you can provide.
You will liaise with specialist service providers (in-work job coaches or CV writers) whilst proactively looking for find suitable organisations to fill any gap in our provision and pitch your idea to the team.
You will evaluate customers’ progress and report your caseloads to the management team informally every week and formally every month.

Previous experience with working with autistic people and people with learning difficulties is helpful but not necessary as training will be provided. What is more important is your passion, willingness and persistence to help our customers access opportunities for work.
