Main duties of the job
You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who you will learn from on the job, we provide training to ensure you have the skills for the role and offer development opportunities to realise your career potential. You will be enrolled onto a healthcare support worker induction programme held each month, ensuring you feel supported as you take the first steps into your new career.
Our ward operate a 24-hour shift rotation across a 7-day service. Day shifts typically start at 07:00-19:30 depending on the ward, and night shifts are vice versa.

Person Specification
Education
* GCSE Grade C English Language or equivalent
* Secondary education
* Relevant qualifications or trust care certificate
Special circumstances
* Ability to work flexibly, across both sites.
* Willingness to support other areas of the service as the need arises
Experience
* 1-2 years' experience of working in a health care setting
* Experience of teaching both individuals and groups
* Previous experience of working within a Ward/Community setting
* Previous experience of working in a team
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Good communication skills both verbally and written to enable liaison with multi-disciplinary team
* Demonstrate ability to organise own workload, prioritise and take initiative where necessary
* Logical approach to work, thorough and accurate
* Be flexible and work as part of a team
* Ability to communicate clearly verbally; open, pleasant, and confident manner
* Computer literacy eg can use email, write documents, use internet
* Knowledge of NHS Trust and use of Medway system would be desirable
* Knowledge of Data Protection Act
* Knowledge of child protection procedures
