The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Party Chief to join Fugro’s Geophysical and Hydrographic team. This is a pivotal role where you be required to lead offshore operations acquiring latest generation hydrographic and geophysical data around the world. Managing projects across a wide variety of industry sectors including renewables, utilities and oil and gas. As a Party Chief you will guide operations with respect to planning, quality and budget and work with project management and operations teams offshore to maximise the operational efficiency of the project field staff and optimise vessel up time.

Here’s what a typical day would be like:
5. You lead the project field staff by supervising the project teams and coordinating operational support team to deliver excellence.
6. You proactively take care of development of a positive safety culture offshore by driving the behavioural changes required to continuously improve safety standards.
7. You are a focal point of contact for clients, internal partners, sub-contractors and directly dealing with the onboard client representatives.
8. You support and promote the Team Fugro culture.
9. Interpret and implement all contract requirements for each project.
10. Oversee all mobilisation checks and calibrations.
11. Oversee the production and filing of high-quality project documentation including operational logs, QA and processing logs, daily meeting minutes, calibration details, safety briefing logs, mobilisation checks, daily progress reports and documenting verbal instructions from client.
12. Oversee all offshore timeliness and quality control.
13. Ensure that all offshore requirements have been completed to the required standards prior to leaving the survey site.
Who we’re looking for:
14. A qualification in Hydrography, Geophysics, Engineering, or closely related subject.
15. Extensive offshore survey experience.
16. Previous experience in a supervisory or senior position.
17. Capable of generating a safe and quality-based culture within the offshore team.
18. An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
19. Disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player.
20. Able to work flexible hours, travel required and work offshore for periods of up to 4 weeks.
