What you will enjoy doing
1. In this hybrid role you will be responsible for leading all aspects of trade compliance ensuring appropriate controls are in place to meet UK and US regulation
2. Ensure a robust control framework is in place for managing imports and exports and in particular where special customs procedures are used
3. Oversee all import/ export customs entries providing clearance instructions to forwarders and maintaining records
4. Obtain export licences where required, maintain records of use and report to HMRC
5. Communicate with HMRC and ECJU, whilst managing queries and taking responsibility for customs audits and reviews
6. Maintain control procedures to prevent violations of US regulations (ITAR/EAR) including technology regulations
7. Continually monitor and improve systems and processes used throughout the business to ensure robust compliance procedures are maintained
8. Defining strategy to ensure regulatory alignment will be part of your role
What makes you great
9. You have demonstrable background in customs compliance including corporate
10. A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
11. Previous experience in a senior customs role
12. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business
13. Understanding of UK customs special procedures and impact on tax and duty
14. Excellent knowledge and awareness of US compliance regulations
15. Strong understanding of export licences
16. You have solid excel skills
