Technical Manager
to join our development team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our housing portfolio. Contractually based out of our Portsmouth office, this is a full-time permanent role, working 37 hours a week with a minimum of 20% of this to be office-based to promote collaboration and teamwork. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is a new role within the Business, offering an opportunity for individuals to create and craft the role and to define a pathway for the future. You’ll promote a culture of ‘conscious design’ focused on residents’ lived experience, embedding structured design programs aligned with RIBA stages and Building Safety Act Gateways. You’ll own building safety compliance, implementing robust processes to meet Golden Thread requirements and ensuring projects are safe and regulation-compliant. Your work will be guided by stakeholder engagement, lessons learned, and continuous improvement. The Technical Manager should be qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil, Environmental, Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management) or have significant industry experience, and be a member of RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIAT, APM, or equivalent. You should have a strong understanding of architectural and technical requirements, building regulations, and renewable technologies. Skills in troubleshooting, design interrogation, stakeholder engagement, and familiarity with RIBA stages, planning legislation, and tender evaluation are essential. Note:
This role involves travel; a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business use are required. Business mileage will be reimbursed.
