We are looking for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for technology who want to start their career in the IT industry. You will join the Applications Development and Maintenance practice, working on a range of clients from public sector to retail, insurance and defence. Build solid team and client relationships, support growth, innovation, and continuous service improvement.
Hybrid Working
This role is hybrid: you'll work predominantly from home but will be expected to attend the office regularly for meetings and team events. You will need to be based within commuting distance of our Glasgow office and may be asked to work on client site part of the week.
Your Role
As an Applications Consultant, you will develop technical skills to support and enhance clients’ business applications, contributing to incident resolution, application enhancements, testing and documentation. You’ll work within Agile, ITIL and product‑centric frameworks, advising clients on maximising application value.
Depending on your strengths and business needs you may specialise as a functional consultant (e.g. HR, Finance, Supply Chain) or as a technical application consultant working with technologies such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud and Java. You’ll engage with cloud and AI technologies, receive world‑class training and pursue industry‑standard qualifications.
Apprenticeship Details
The degree apprenticeship with Glasgow Caledonian University is a 4‑year course, study part‑time alongside your full‑time role. Modules include Computer System Fundamentals, Object‑oriented Analysis & Design, Information Security and DevOps, plus a final project in partnership with Capgemini.

Your Skills and Experience
* Living and working in Scotland
* BBB or equivalent including Higher in Maths, Application of Maths or Computing
* Foundation Apprenticeship (equivalent to one Higher qualification)
* Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF level 6 (equivalent to two Highers at B)
* Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for prior work experience and professional qualifications
Clearance
To be appointed you must obtain Security Check (SC) clearance and meet residency requirements. Security clearance eligibility will be assessed through questions about residence and nationality.
