Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a PCB Soldering & Electronics Technician, located in West Dean. The responsibilities include soldering and assembling electronic components, inspecting boards for quality compliance, and performing maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will also collaborate with the engineering team to support testing and ensure smooth production workflows.

The Position
We’re looking for a technician with previous PCB assembly experience who can demonstrate initiative, a passion to learn and a willingness to ‘get stuck in’. Your role will cover the assembly and modification of PCBs and electronic products. Building prototypes and supporting the design team.
Daily duties include:
* Hand assembly and soldering of PCBs
* Through hole and Surface mount placement by hand
* Cleaning of PCBs
* Visual inspection of PCB solder joints
* PCB rework and modification
Occasional duties include:
* Cable preparation, cutting, stripping and tinning of cables
* Manual crimping and insertion
* Programming and testing of PCB assemblies
* Mechanical assembly of control boxes
You will be confident communicating with colleagues, and will work well as part of a multidisciplinary team of hardware engineers, firmware engineers and industrial designers. Your diligent and conscientious approach will ensure you are operating within and contributing to our quality system and helping us to continually improve the way we do things.
Requirements
* At least2 years of experiencein an electronics production environment
* Ability to work with bothleaded and lead-free solder
* Experience of preparing, populating and solderingthrough hole components
* Experience ofhand placement and soldering of surface mount componentsdown to 0402 package sizes
* Use of basic hand tools, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
The following skills are beneficial but not mandatory:
* Experience of using hot air and other rework techniques
* IPC-601 certification (current or previous)
Location
CircuitWorx is based in the beautiful Test Valley countryside, halfway between Salisbury and Southampton and within commuting range of Winchester and Andover. We’re situated in the village of West Dean, with a train station within a short walking distance. Due to the nature of the role, working remotely is not an option.
